Penalties and Offences for Non-compliance

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) takes a stringent approach to matters concerning food production and processing, as outlined in Sections 50 to 65 of the FSSAI Act, 2006. These sections encompass various offenses related to food safety, emphasizing the need for strict compliance to avoid legal repercussions. One of the primary offenses is the sale of food without the requisite FSSAI license, punishable by imprisonment and hefty fines. Additionally, offenses such as food adulteration, misleading labeling, non-compliance with safety standards, and selling expired products are strictly regulated and penalized. Adhering to FSSAI regulations is not only a legal obligation but also crucial for safeguarding public health and ensuring the integrity of the food supply chain.

The sale of substandard quality food is considered an offense under FSSAI regulations, resulting in a penalty of 5 lakhs.

The sale of misbranded products carries a penalty of 3 lakhs.

Detailed plan of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) as per FSSAI guidelines.

09NOC from Municipality:

No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the local municipal authority or Panchayat.
